Masi, a name of a vintner known for it's Amarone as well as
it's Valpolicella Classico. I've had the former and have
not had the latter, so as we know, the latter is next up on
the list along with barolo.
But because I had just been introduced to the Masi name,
and their Amarone, I figured that I would try this one.
In tasting this 'Nectar Angelorum Hominibus' which I think
means something like Angelic nectar for humans, unless of
course Angelorum is dealing with the English (I've gotta
get back to latin), I must admit that I had my heart set on
a taste just like the amarone, and being so, was somewhat
disappointed. However, my buddy Carol 'Spork' Graham was
taking this bottle down with me, and she liked it.
This is not to say that I didn't think this a good wine,
but I had been expecting the taste of a bottle that was
almost four times this in price, and that is not a good
thing to do.
In reading the back of the bottle, it said that this wine
has an aging potential of 10-15 years. Now, I have to buy
me case and seal it away for that time.
I would recommend that you get a couple of bottles and do
the same.
